October 18th, 2023: NEW AND LATEST PROJECTS
A lot of time has passed since the
latest update and in the meantim Theodore Shapiro has
completed scoring two movies and is also expected to
return for second season
of Ben
Stiller's SEVERANCE. While the song album for TROLLS BAND
TOGETHER has already been announced, there is so far no confirmation
of score album. The movie opens in theatres worldwide later this
week.
A
few more possible projects are in the works yet none
of them has been confirmed - including upcoming new comedy from
Paul Feig.
November 09th,
2023: TROLLS: BAND TOGETHER score released
Following the song album release last
month, Theodore Shapiro's score for TROLLS: BAND TOGETHER is
finally available digitally from Back Lot Music. Featuring roughly
48 minutes of the original score, the album is available to
buy from iTunes
.
October 13th,
2022: Two new albums released
Two new album have been
released over the past few weeks, while long delayed THE GOOD
HOUSE was released by Lakeshore Records, THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND
EVIL is available from Neflix Music. Unfortunately neither of the
titles has been released on CDs and both are available as
download only through all specialised
outlets.
September 08th, 2022: And
the Emmy goes to...
Congratulations to Theodore
Shapiro for his first Emmy, which he won this past
weekend for SEVERANCE's episode Tbe We We Are. For the

July 16th, 2022: THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL
In recent interview with
Film Music Media (see below), Theodore Shapiro revealed his
recent project, which reunites him with Paul Feig, marking
their 5th project together following:
SPY,GHOSTBUSTERS, A SIMPLE FAVOR and LAST CHRISTMAS.
Based
on the novel by Soman Chainani, THE SCHOOL FOR GOOD AND EVIL
follows Sophie who had waited her entire life to be kidnapped
by the School Master and taken away to train to be a fairytale
hero at The School for Good and Evil. However, Agatha, who is
unliked by many for being considered a witch, is not ready to
give up her only friend and must stop Sophie from going, this
ending up as joining her. As the two get whisked away into the
deathly secretive world of Fairytales, they find that their
fortunes are reversed, much to Sophie's dismay. Finding it
impossible to escape from the treacherous world, they find
that the only way out, is through a fairytale. Netflix wll release Feigco / Universal
Pictures production later this year and you can check the
trailer on the left. In other news, Theodore is expected to
also return to score upcoming second season of SEVERANCE. No
release date has been announced yet.

Congratulations to Theodore
Shapiro on his two Emmy nominations for his work on SEVERANCE:
Season 1. The nominations are in 'Outstanding Main Title Theme
Music' and 'Outstanding Music Composition for a Series

Ben Stiller-directed Apple
TV+ series SEVERANCE will be released digitally tomorrow by Endeavor Content
& Lakeshore Records SEVERANCE is written and created by Dan
Erickson and stars Adam Scott, John Turturro, Britt Lower,
Patricia Arquette, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Jen Tullock, Tramell Tillman,
Michael Chernus and Christopher Walken. The drama follows a team leader at
Lumon Industries, whose employees have undergone a severance procedure,
which surgically divides their memories between their work and
personal lives, and who finds himself at the center of
an unraveling
mystery. The series will premiere tomorrow exclusively on Apple
TV+.
September 16th,
2021: THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE score release
Hollywood Records will
release a score album for the biographical drama THE EYES OF
TAMMY FAYE composed by Theodore Shapiro. The soundtrack will
be released digitally tomorrow, September 17. The movie tells
the story of the extraordinary rise, fall and redemption of
televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker who – in the 1970s and 80 rose
from humble beginnings to create the world’s largest religious
broadcasting network and theme park with her husband, Jim
Bakker. The drama just premiered at the 2021 Toronto Film
Festival and
will be released in theaters this weekend by Searchlight
Pictures.

June 24th, 2020: THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE
Film Music Reporter has announced
that Theodore Shapiro will be scoring upcoming
biographical drama THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE. The film is
directed by Michael Showalter (The Big Sick, Hello, My
Name Is Doris) and stars Jessica
Chastain, Andrew Garfield, Cherry Jones,
Sam Jaeger, Vincent D’Onofrio, Gabriel Olds, Mark
Wystrach, Chandler Hand, Fredric Lehne and Jay Hugule. The movie is
based on the 2000 documentary of the same title
by Fenton Bailey & Randy Barbato and tells
the story of the extraordinary rise, fall and
redemption of televangelist Tammy Faye Bakker e and her
husband, Jim Bakker, who rose from humble beginnings to create the world’s
largest religious broadcasting network and theme park, and were revered for
their message of love, acceptance and
prosperity. Shapiro
has previously co-scored Showalter’s feature directorial debut The Baxter.
THE EYES OF TAMMY FAYE is currently in post-production and will
be distributed by Searchlight Pictures. No release date has been announced
yet.

December 28th, 2019: THE GOOD HOUSE
According to Film Music Reporter,
Theodore Shapiro will be scoring upcoming comedy drama
THE GOOD HOUSE. The film is written and directed by Maya
Forbes (INFINITELY POLAR BEAR, THE POLKA KING) & Wally
Wolodarsky and stars Kevin Kline, Sigourney Weaver, Morena
Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Beverly D’Angelo, David Rasche, Rebecca
Henderson, Molly Brown, Kathryn Erbe and Kelly AuCoin. The
movie is based on the New York Times bestseller of the same
name by Ann Leary and revolves around a New England realtor
who lives in a small town
on Boston’s
North Shore and whose life starts to unravel as
she rekindles an old romance. THE GOOD HOUSE is currently in
post-production and is expected to be released in 2020 by Universal
Pictures.

December 13th, 2019: clips: SPIES IN DISGUISE 20th Century Fox has
released first clipse from upcoming SPIES IN DISGUISE, which
also feature a few bits from Theodore Shapiro's score. You can
check them out below. The movie will be released on December
25th.
December 12th, 2019: ALBUM: BOMBSHELL
Warner Records will release
BOMBSHELL score album digitally tomorrow. The album
features 43 minutes of original score as well
as song One Little Soldier by Regina Spektor. The score
incoporates three vocalists Caroline Shaw, Petra Haden
& The Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs. You can download
the album from iTunes or Amazon. The movie is directed by Jay
Roach and stars Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman, Margot
Robbie, John Lithgow, Kate McKinnon, Malcolm McDowell
and Allison Janney. The drama, which tells the story of the
women who brought down Fox News chief Roger Ailes, is
opening in New York and Los Angeles this weekend and

2019: ANNIE nomination: SPIES IN DISGUISE
Theodore Shapiro (together with Mark
Ronson) has been nominated for Annie Award for his original
score for upcoming SPIES IN DISGUISE. The winners of the
awards will be announced at the 47th Annual Annie Awards
ceremony on January 25, 2020, at UCLA’s Royce Hall, in Los
Angeles, CA. For a full list of Annie Award nominations, click
here. While EP including Ronson's song has been
already announced and can be downloaded from iTunes or Amazon, separate score album
is also in the works and should be announced closer
to the film's release date this Christmas.

TRAILER: LAST CHRISTMAS Trailers for two upcoming movies have been
released over the past couple of weeks. Coming first is the
romantic comedy LAST CHRISTMAS directed by Paul Feig and set
for release by Universal Pictures on November 8th. Kate
(Emilia Clarke) is a young woman subscribed to bad
decisions. Her last date with disaster? That of having
accepted to work as Santa's elf for a department store.
However, she meets Tom (Henry Golding) there. Her life
takes a new turn. For Kate, it seems too good to be
true.
August 25th, 2019:
TEASER: BOMBSHELL Speaking of Christmas, around that
time we'll get two new movies featuring original score by Theodore Shapiro:
animation SPIES IN DISGUISE from Blue Sky Studios (to
be released on December 25th) and previously untitles Jay Roach
movie BOMBSHELL starring Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot
Robbie. Distributed by Lionsgate (release date December 20th),
BOMBSHELL is based on a true story of
a group of women who decide to take on Fox News head
Roger Ailes and the toxic atmosphere he presided over the network. Stay tuned
for any details regarding possible soundtrack albums, which will be
posted as soon as available. The trailer even
includes a small bit from the
score.
June 20th, 2019: NEW
PROJECT: TROLLS WORLD TOUR
FROM
FMR : Theodore Shapiro has
signed on to score DreamWorks Animation’s feature TROLLS WORLD
TOUR. The film is directed by Walt Dohrn (who co-directed the
original 2016 Trolls movie) and stars Anna Kendrick and Justin
Timberlake, as well as Rachel Bloom, Ozzy Osbourne, James
Corden, Caroline Hjelt, Aino Jawo, Ron Funches and Kunal
Nayyar. The movie follows Poppy and Branch as they discover
that they are but one of six different Troll tribes scattered
over six different lands devoted to six different kinds of
music: Funk, Country, Techno, Classical, Pop and Rock.
Timberlake will also contribute new songs to the film. Other
talent to appear in the film include Mary J. Blige, George
Clinton, Anderson .Paak, Kelly Clarkson, Sam Rockwell, Flula
Borg, J Balvin, Ester Dean, Anthony Ramos, Jamie Dornan or
Gustavo Dudamel. TROLLS WORLD TOUR
is set to be released on April 17, 2020 by Universal
Pictures.

A SIMPLE FAVOR finally on CD Theodore Shapiro's score for A SIMPLE FAVOR will
be released on CD as well. The digital only release has been
available from Lakeshore Records since the movie was
released in theatres. The CD edition will be available in
Japan from Rambling Records and can be pre-ordered from
Screen
Archives in the U.S. or
Amazon
JP
and ArkSquare in
Japan. The content of the album is the same as the previous
Lakeshore album.

DESTROYER vinyl edition
announced
Mondo, in conjunction with Lakeshore
Records, is proud to present Theodore Shapiro's score to Karyn
Kusama's masterful 2018 film, DESTROYER. Like their previous
collaboration (THE INVITATION), Theodore's score is
emotionally devastating. Similar to Erin Bell, the album is
rageful, intense, loving and sublime. The album is a journey,
sonically tracking from bank shootouts to foot chases and
hubristic comeuppances - ultimately arriving at one of
Theodore's beautiful pieces of music titled 'Ecstasy.' Pressed
on 180 Gram Clear with Purple Die-pack Splatter. Limited to
500 copies. Featuring original artwork by Matt Ryan Tobin and
liner notes by Theodore Shapiro. As usual, new releases go on
sale on Wednesdays (February 20th) at NOON (CT) via
